Your best
friend calls. She's excited. She can barely blurt out the words
"I'm getting married!". You know what's coming next.
"Will you be my Maid of Honor?" or something to that effect.
You are speechless, suddenly your whole life together flash before
your eyes. You're thinking "What have I done to deserve
this?" Your first reaction was to turn her down, ask her to
get somebody else, instead you accept and thank her for choosing you
among her many friends. Now you are sure that she considers you a true
friend she can trust. Don't let her down.
Be
Patient
You will
be spending a lot of time with her going thru this website, reading
bridal books, catalogues, brides magazines, phone directories and
other sources that she thinks will provide the answers to her needs
and questions. That's just for starters. Next you will be driving
around looking at bridal gowns, wedding and reception venues, meeting
caterers, photographers, videographers, and other trades. The list
seem endless. Be patient. Enjoy it.
Be
There
You still
have your own life to live, people to see, things to do, and she is
asking too much of your time. Plus you're not getting paid for it,
actually you will be paying for your own gas or transport, meals and
snacks, etc. You may even have to take time off work to accompany her
to meetings, lunch dates or fittings. However you have to be
there for her, as a pillar of support and a well of encouragement.
Prove to your best friend and to yourself that she made the right
decision when she choose you to be her Maid of Honor.
