An
ever increasing number of brides are opting to hire a wedding planner
to oversee the entire wedding celebration;
pre-nuptial parties, wedding ceremony, reception, photo and video,
caterers, transport, etc. Or contract for part of the
event; the reception, decor and caterer.
Bridal or
wedding planning is not regulated and anyone can call themselves
wedding planners or bridal consultants. It is advisable to deal only with established and
experienced professional wedding
planners. There are
quite a number of them . Meet with them in their office and discuss
your ideas and ask for references of past clients. Ask to see photos
and videos of their work.
A wedding
planner will have extensive contacts in the industry; reception venues
like hotels, golf courses, restaurants etc and caterers,
photographers, decorators, chair covers and other trades needed to
hold a dream wedding. They should be on first name basis with them and
can negotiate the best deal for you.
You will
be working closely with the wedding planner of your choice. Take your
time. Meet with them. First consultation should be free.
